Being a caravanner, and having been one for many years now, I have a few thoughts to share with my fellow caravanners. Caravanning has been a part of most of our lives for some time now, so we all know how important it is to find a good touring caravan site for healthy abode throughout our travels. Needless to say, the people and faces and stories I’ve encountered in touring caravan sites over the years have been a fundamental part of the caravanning experience. I really have found that the experiences I’ve had in touring caravan sites have encouraged me to keep my annual caravan holiday ritual. But I have taken to wondering at times why it’s always old time caravanners, people who have been caravanning for years, who my family and I encounter on our trips. Is it a members only club? Certainly not; some of the friendliest, most open and giving people have become good friends of ours through meeting at touring caravan sites around Britain. In fact, I think they would challenge the continental perception us Brits have accumulated as a rather cold, guarded nation. And caravanning itself is the most beautiful way of enjoying the real beauty of this island, I couldn’t emphasise that enough. So why is it that more people don’t take caravan holidays? With the current climate being what it is, I’d think more people would embrace the opportunity, rather than fork out for cheap alternatives across the sea. I say us caravanners should spread the word and enlighten more of our nation’s folk as to the rich sites and exhilarating experiences to be shared in caravan holidays.
